50 years ago, 1963: Erie County's court house clock, dubbed "Old Sandy" turned 90 years old in 1963. During its rein as Sandusky's municipal time-keeper, "Old Sandy" watched the city change from the horse-and-buggy of post-Civil War to the present where parking meters have replaced hitching posts.
25 years ago, 1988: Ohio concert-goers were no longer allowed to bring their own beverages to Blossom Music Center as of the summer of 1988. Patrons had been allowed to bring non-alcoholic beverages to concerts, but Blossom official said too many were smuggling liquor in the guise of lemonade or punch. Beer and wine will still be sold during concerts.
10 years ago, 2003: St. Mary Central Catholic High School named its valedictorians and salutatorian for the class of 2003. The valedictorian title will be shared by Bryan Dunn and Sarah Widman. Salutatorian will be Jeremy Miller.
