Here are the updates that were posted during the live programming of the protest.
Update 11:30 a.m.: Check back here at sanduskyregister.com later for updates and video from the protest and interviews outside the courtroom. Reporter Emil Whitis had a brief opportunity to ask Dean Henry questions before he slipped into a room with a reporter from the Fremont News Messenger. The Register will also seek information from the News Messenger if Henry provided any of any value. The Register also has asked Sandusky County Court administrator Brock Kimmet for a copy of the audio from today's hearing. The court barred any other recording, video livestream reporting or still photography while the hearing took place.
Update 10:40 a.m.: The hearing has ended. Special prosecutor and county defense counsel Dean Henry agreed to delay exhumation awaiting Judge Charles Wittenberg's decison on a request from McGookey to stop it. Henry wanted to exhume Jacob's body on Monday. Henry also said he plans to depose five experts from the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation. McGookey again raised concerns about Henry's dual role as both prosecutor and defense counsel for the county, saying it is an inappropriate arrangement. Calls the investigation a "nightmare for the family."
Update 10:25 a.m.: The court hearing has been happening for about an hour. Contact with reporter Emil Whitis and chief photographer Jason Werling ceased when the hearing began. We are expecting an update immediately after the hearing ends.
Update 10:15 a.m. : Witness interview posted at Justice for Jake page. Click here to hear it. Investigator calls death, "the incident." The court hearing is continuing. We are awaiting word from reporter Emil Whitis.
Update 9:45 a.m.: The hearing is underway. Reporter Emil Whitis and chief photographer Jason Werling will provide live updates as it ends. Whitis will also seek an interview with special prosecutor and county defense counsel Dean Henry when the hearing ends. Henry has been reluctant to talk with the Register.
Update 9:30 a.m.: Sandusky County officials, Limberios family members and protesters gathering in courtroom.
Update 9:20 a.m.: Limberios family says they will do everything they can to stop the scheduled exhumation on Monday. The family wants Sandusky County officials to tell them why a second exhumation is necessary. Court hearing set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
Update: 9:15 a.m.: Jacob Limberios friend Brady Gasser urges a non-violent protest and prayers for family and Sandusky County officials.
Attorney Dan McGookey said "The criminal justice system in Sandusky County is broken." About 40 people have gathered. McGookey said they have a right to attend court hearing.
Update 8:45 a.m.: About 35 people have gathered at the Sandusky County Courthouse. Some have migrated tfrom the rain o the courthouse steps.
