One of this week's notes, from Bellevue Elementary School:
Bellevue Elementary School fifth-graders recently participated in the "Be Bully Wise" program with the district's social worker and school counselor.
Through a series of classroom lessons the children learned effective prevention and intervention strategies to use in bullying or teasing situations. Students also participated in a bully bulletin board contest, addressing three topics: "types of bullies," "how to deal with bullies" or "how to change bullying behaviors."
Contest winners, one from each classroom, are: Hannah Seamon, Megan Missler, Megan Batey, Raquelle Seamon, Julia Ochenduski and Rayven Whyde.
