Cedar Point has announced it will host its Fifth Annual Coasting for Kids Marathon Fundraiser on June 9. The event, as always, will benefit Give Kids the World, a non-profit that provides free storybook vacations to Central Florida for children who have life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Cedar Point is one of 10 amusements parks participating in the event in 2013.
For a registration fee of $25 and a minimum fundraising donation of $75, coaster fans will get free admission to Cedar Point, a limited edition t-shirt, and exclusive riding privileges on the Magnum XL-200 and Gemini roller coasters at Cedar Point.
“Families, particularly children, are the driving force behind all of Cedar Fair’s parks,” said Annie Zelm, spokeswoman for Cedar Point. “Our rides and attractions give them a rare opportunity to escape the stresses of everyday life, and our partnership with Give Kids The World helps make that possible for families who need a day of fun more than ever. We are proud of our parks’ combined efforts to raise funds so these deserving families can look forward to a vacation they’ll treasure for years.”
To date, the Coasting for Kids event has raised $220,000 for Give Kids the World.
