Huron sends off student ready for Olympic gold

The freshman is no stranger to the high school's traditional athletic sendoffs, where hundreds of students crowd hallways to urge on state competitors.
Max is the football team's "water man" — not boy, he says. He often joins basketball players in their huddle, greeting them and wishing them luck with his trademark phrase, "howdy."
This week, however, it was Max's turn to receive well-wishes, as he heads to a statewide athletic contest.
He'll compete today and Thursday in the Special Olympics Winter Games at Brandywine Ski Resort near Cleveland, skiing in the giant slalom and downhill alpine competitions.
