Huron, Chinese city share planning award

For starters, the population in oil-rich Karamay is about 43 times the size of Huron.

The two locations are a world apart — geographically, ethnically and culturally.  

And yet, officials in both cities recently shared the same global distinction: An Ohio-based architectural organization, the American Society of Landscape Architects, awarded planning and analysis accolades to both cities.

The award honors governments that compose immaculate plans to progressively improve a community.
