Sandy erodes Lake Erie shore

The full extent of the damage and its effects won’t be known for some time, state officials said.
Ohio’s Office of Coastal Management, located in Sandusky, already has two teams out analyzing the storm’s impact on the shore, said Brenda Culler, a spokeswoman for the office.
The lake level has been relatively low, which should prevent ever larger problems from erosion, said Jeffrey Reutter, director of the Ohio Sea Grant College Program and Stone Laboratory.
“Still, you’ve got some pretty darn big waves,” he said.
