Six vie for three Sandusky school board seats

Sandusky Register Staff • Nov 8, 2011 at 11:07 PM

(UPDATED 9:40 p.m.) Newcomer Martha Stauffer Murray has ousted incumbent Tracy Shoemo for a spot on the Sandusky school board, according to unofficial election results. Incumbents Jeff Krabill and King Baer have managed to keep their spots.

The city's voters strongly favored Murray, who was the top vote-getter among the six candidates vying for three spots on the board.

The gap between Baer and fourth-place finisher Tracy Shoemo was narrow indeed, but not narrow enough to warrant an automatic recount.

Here's the rundown from the 15,836 ballots cast in the school board race:

Martha Stauffer Murray: 3,569

Jeff Krabill: 3,146

King Baer: 3,097

Tracy Shoemo: 2,963

Racquel Pace: 1,725

Darwitt Garrett: 1,336
