Sandusky police were aiming to seize weapons on Sept. 17 when they recruited local, state and federal law enforcement officers for an eight-hour, citywide blitz.

FBI agents, sheriff's deputies, police and other law enforcement officials spent the day scouring bars, stopping vehicles and serving warrants, but in the end they didn't seize a single weapon.

They did, however, make a few dozen arrests and issue some citations, as well as seizing $5,000 cash and a little less than a pound of marijuana, according to police Chief Jim Lang.

Pick up Friday's Register to get the full breakdown on the day's tally, including the number of felony arrests, misdemeanor arrests and other citations.
