Edison Schools consider levy

Edison Schools may place a levy on the November ballot to shore up deficit spending and offset inevitable cuts at the state level.

The proposed 4.9-mill levy would generate about $1.14 million dollars a year for five years.

It would cost the owner of a $100,000 home an additional $150 a year.

At a meeting Wednesday, board members unanimously agreed to continue researching the idea.

“I’m sure the board will like to first discuss the pros, cons and so forth,” interim superintendent Bill Pahl said. “No decision has been made yet if the levy will actually go on the ballot.”
