ODOT weekly construction update

The Ohio Department of Transportation announces this construction report for the week of July 18.

• State Route 2, Lorain County — SR 2, from just east of SR 58 to I-90 is reduced to one lane in each direction nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for pavement repair and resurfacing.  During      

  these lane restrictions, lane widths will be reduced to 11 ft.  This project is       

  expected to be complete in late-August, 2011.                                         

• State Route 2, Lorain County  — SR 2, at its bridge under Oberlin Road (between State Route 58 and Middle Ridge Road), has night time single lane closures in each direction as part of a bridge replacement project. The work zone will be in place each work night from 7:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. the following morning. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times throughout the daytime hours; however, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during the night. The project is expected to be complete in mid-August, 2011. ***Oberlin Road is closed as part of this bridge replacement project. Motorists are encouraged to use Middle Ridge Road, Cooper Foster Park Road and North Ridge Road as a detour route.                                                   

• US Route 6, Erie County — US 6 (Liberty Avenue), from just west of Adams Street to Decatur Street in the City of Vermilion, is restricted for culvert repairs. Two-way traffic is being maintained in the westbound lanes. Traffic will remain in this pattern until further notice.     

• US Route 20, Huron County — US 20, between the village of Monroeville and Cleveland Road, is restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction as part of a smooth seal pavement project. The project is scheduled to be complete in mid-August, 2011.                              

• State Route 61, Erie County –  SR 61, from State Route 113 to U.S. Route 6, will be restricted to one lane of two-way traffic maintained by flaggers for pavement resurfacing beginning Monday, July 18. The project is expected to be complete in mid-September, 2011.               

• Interstate 90, Lorain County — I-90, from the Ohio Turnpike to the Lake Road underpass, will be reduced to one lane in each direction nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for pavement repair and resurfacing.  During these lane restrictions, lane widths will be reduced to 11 ft. This project is expected to be completed in mid-August, 2011.                         

                

• US Route 224, Huron County — US 224, 0.2 mile east of State Route 61, is restricted to one lane of two-way traffic controlled by a temporary signal for a bridge replacement. The project is expected to be completed by late September, 2011.                                                 

• US Route 250, Erie County — US 250, from Lais Road in Huron County to the Ohio Turnpike, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for pavement resurfacing.  This project is scheduled to be complete in late August, 2011.                                                     

• State Route 303, Huron County — SR-303, 0.5 mile west of State Route 60, will close Tuesday, July 19 for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR-303 to SR-60, north on SR-60 to U.S. Route 20, east on U.S. 20 to State Route 58, south on SR-58 to SR-303, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in mid-September 2011.

• West River Road, Erie County — The northbound lanes of West River Road, between Liberty Avenue and Larchmont Drive in the City of Vermilion, are closed for pavement resurfacing. The southbound lanes remain open at this time. The detour route for northbound motorists is West River Road to Darrow Road, west on Darrow Road to State Route 60, north on SR-60 to Liberty Avenue, east on Liberty Avenue to West River Road. The project is expected to be completed by late August, 2011.
