Barring any appeals, Michael Martin will spend at least the next 15 years in prison for the murder of 25-year-old Amanda Gibson.
Jurors in Erie County Common Pleas Court on Monday found Martin, 54, guilty of murder in Gibson’s death.
The conviction carries a life sentence, with the possibility of parole after 15 years.
They also convicted him on two counts of tampering with evidence, with each count carrying a sentence of up to five years.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced March 16.
Martin strangled Gibson on June 7 and dumped her body by a fishing pond along Smith Road in southern Erie County.
Jurors deliberated for two days before reaching their verdict shortly after 11:30 a.m.
