Despite the weather, home sales rebounded both locally and across the state in January.
Figures released Wednesday by the Ohio Association of Realtors show that home sales were up 8.7 percent in January in the Firelands Association of Realtors area, which consists of Erie, Ottawa, Huron, Sandusky and Seneca counties.
A total of 112 homes sold last month, compared to 103 in January 2010. Statewide, home sales rose 0.4 percent during the same period.
The average sales price fell 14.8 percent in the Firelands area (from $117,308 in January 2010 to $99,949 last month) and fell 4.8 percent statewide.
