The former BGSU Firelands part-time professor who threatened an associate dean with a knife was found guilty today in Huron Municipal Court in connection with the crime.

Patrick R. Saunders, 62, of Norwalk, pleaded no contest to inducing panic, which was a reduced charge from aggravated menacing. He was sentenced to a 180-day jail term.

A second charge of carrying a concealed weapon was dismissed, according to the court.

The jail term was suspended on the condition he is law abiding for two years and stays away from the BGSU campus and its associate dean. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and go to anger management counseling.
