An argument between a divorced couple picking up their son at Woodlands Elementary School in Huron led to an arrest.
Daniel Clark, 46, of Bellevue was charged in Huron Municipal Court with domestic violence for allegedly choking his former wife, Ellen Houseman, 26, of Huron on Monday.
Police arrived at the school parking lot to find Houseman trembling and upset with red marks on the front of her neck. Clark is accused of reaching into her van and grabbing her by the throat.
Both Houseman and the couple's 9-year-old son separately told investigators the same account of the actions that followed the couple's argument.
During an interview with Clark, he told police Houseman must have gone to her home and put the marks on her neck herself. Clark had arrived at the police department to file a complaint against Houseman for slapping him in the face.
