Sandusky man killed in crash on Ohio 4

GROTON TOWNSHIP

A Sandusky man is dead after his truck went off the road on Ohio 4 south of the Ohio Turnpike early Saturday morning, state troopers said.

Timothy M. Hiemstra, 24, 632 Shelby St., (right in photo) was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado north on Ohio 4, went off the road, striking a road sign and the end of a guardrail. The truck overturned and struck another sign, rolling down an embankment, troopers said,. Hiemstra and his passenger, Trevor A. Dehn, 24, 1513 W. Madison St., Sandusky, (left in photo) were both thrown from the truck.

Dehn was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center by Groton Township Fire/EMS, troopers said.

The crash occurred at about 3:43 a.m. Saturday.

The crash remains under investigation.
