Perkins 160, Oak Harbor 226: The Pirates (9-1, 18 points) broke a school record in their Sandusky Bay Conference dual finale against Oak Harbor. The win brings them into a tie for first place in the SBC with Edison (9-1, 18 points) heading into Saturday’s SBC tournament at Sawmill Creek in Huron. The winner of the tournament takes the conference.
Port Clinton 174, Edison 191: The Redskin boys earned a share of the SBC for the first time since 1980, when they shared the title with St. Mary CC. With a win over Edison this coming Tuesday at Thunderbird Hills South in Huron Twp., Port Clinton can secure the school’s first outright title.
Huron 156, Oak Harbor 206: Keegan Bollenbacher eagled No. 2 and nearly holed-out No. 7 in the Tigers’ big win over Oak Harbor. His second shot on the par-4 No. 2 was 185 yards through the air, landing directly in the cup, nestled against the flag. The Tigers finished third in the SBC.
Crestview 339, St. Paul 355: The Cougars’ ended the Flyers’ 11-season stranglehold on the Firelands Conference by finishing the season unbeaten in FC play and winning Thursday’s conference tournament. New London finished third at 363, eight strokes behind St. Paul.
Clyde 3, Huron 2: The Fliers (7-7, 4-4 SBC) edged the Tigers (6-5, 6-2) in five sets at Clyde High School. Clyde won the first two sets and dropped the third and fourth before winning the abbreviated fifth set. Breanne Michaels led Clyde with 19 kills, followed by Rachael Smetzler with 14.
Edison 3, Port Clinton 0: The Chargers remain unbeaten in the SBC as they start their second trip through the conference. Abbey Cox was 16 of 18 hitting with 11 kills.
Norwalk 3, Shelby 0: Norwalk (13-1, 6-0 NOL) opened up a two-game lead with four to play in the Northern Ohio League with a sweep of Shelby on Thursday.
Huron 8, Clyde 1: At Huron, John Dusza earned a hat trick, while Michael Zeck and Sam Danilo both added a pair of goals to lift the Tigers over the Fliers. Sam Gerber scored Clyde's lone goal on a penalty kick.
Huron 5, Clyde 1: Amanda Vacca led the Tigers in their Sandusky Bay Conference win over Clyde with two goals and two assists, while Shannon Hughes tallied one of each as well. The win improves Huron's record to 4-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the SBC.
Bellevue 4, Fremont St. Joe 1: The Redmen swept the doubles matches with a pair of 6-0, 6-0 decisions and only dropped the No. 3 singles match to improve their record to 5-7 on the season and 1-6 in the Northern Ohio League.
