LEJGA at Sawmill turns into a wash

Rain played havoc with the Lake Erie Junior Golf Association for the second time in eight days Monday.
The Sawmill Creek Junior Open twice was delayed because of the weather conditions and only one division managed to get its tournament in.
However, the boys' 17-19 age group event was reduced to nine holes and three players tied for honors with 37s on the tough front nine.
Dustin Lieber (Norwalk), Jack Eifel (Bay Village) and Mitchell Rice (Sandusky) each finished two over par and a scorecard playoff was needed to determine the champion.
Lieber earned the Sawmill title, and all but secured the Player of the Year award in his division.
