On Thursday, The Ohio State University coach Luke Fickell made the announcement that freshman Braxton Miller will start Saturday’s game against Colorado at Ohio Stadium.
This is the correct call for the coach.
This nothing against Joe Bauserman. He did a good job against Akron and Toledo, but a fifth-year senior isn’t going to make a team better.
Miller, even though he’s young, is the present and future of this team, especially after a 24-6 loss to Miami.
The most important aspect that Miller can provide is a change-up in the offense. In other words, he can run and take the pressure off the backs.
Right now, the passing game is not good.
The problem Miller has had in two games is turnovers with an interception against Akron and fumble against Miami.
Miller would become just the third true freshman to start a game for the Buckeyes at quarterback. Art Schlichter started in 1978 and Terrelle Pryor 2008.
