Here's a quick recap of Friday's SBC games:
Norwalk 24, Perkins 6: The Truckers open the seasn 3-0 for the first time since 1974 with a win over Perkins at home. Junior Jake Fetherolf completed 14 pf 29 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Norwalk's offensive line kept Fetherolf clean all night, with plenty of time to find his targets.
St. Mary CC 42, Danbury 13: The Panthers came away victorious in the first meeting between the two schools since 1955. With the win, St. Mary finished non-conference play with a 2-1 record and have won two games in a row, for the first time since 2007.
Margaretta 32, Brookside 6: Senior Andrew Freeh broke free from a wall of blockers on the opening kickoff to run in a 93 yard touchdown 14 seconds into the game to lead Margaretta to a 32-6 victory over Brookside. The Polar Bears, 2-1, had 83 yards on 13 rushes and junior quarterback Tyler Hilton completed 4 of 6 passes for 72 yards.
Wellington 25, Edison 7: At Wellington, the Dukes earned their first win of the season with a strong running game as they defeated Edison 25-7. Wellington ran for 306 yards and got out to a 19-0 lead before hthe Chargers got on the board.
Genoa 57, Port Clinton 0: At Port Clinton, the Comets scored 22 points in the second quarter to hand the Redskins their first loss of the season. Genoa rushed for 354 yards, while Port Clintn had 140.
Eastwood 52, Oak Harbor 14: At Pemberville, the Eagles defeated the visiting Rockets 52-14 for their second loss of the season. Eastwood got on the board first with a pair of running touchdowns to outscore the Rockets 14-7 in the first quarter.
