Western Reserve, fresh off its Firelands Conference championship, stayed put at No. 6 in Monday's final version of the Associated Press State Football Poll.
The Clyde Fliers moved up one spot, finishing the year ranked eighth.
It means very little, however, as both teams head into the state playoffs this weekend.
The Fliers (9-1, 5-1) defeated Edison 42-6 to win the Sandusky Bay Conference title outright. It is the fourth straight season Clyde has won or shared the conference title. Clyde, which qualified for the playoffs after missing out last year and was ranked No. 1 in the state earlier this season, hosts Shelby at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The Roughriders, who went undefeated this season, finished the regular season with a 61-10 victory over Mapleton. They finished the year ranked second in Division V, Region 18 and host Jeromesville Hillsdale at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the first round of the state playoffs.
Other teams of local interests include:
Avon, No. 2 in Div. II
Tiffin Columbian, No. 6 in Div. III
Genoa, No. 3 in Div. IV
Thompson Ledgemont, No. 11 in Div. VI
In the first round of the playoffs, Avon hosts Sandusky in Div. II, Region 6, and Monroeville travels to Thompson Ledgemont in Div. VI, Region 21. Both games will be played at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
