Clyde has found itself on top. With a 7-0 record, the Fliers are the No. 1 ranked team in Division III in the weekly Associated Press State Football Poll, released Monday evening.
Clyde had 13 first-place votes, and edged Alliance Marlington (7-0) with a 283-275 margin in points. Last week's No. 1 team, Stuebenville, lost and fell to No. 3 in the division, but still has five first-place votes.
The Fliers, who have won or shared the Sandusky Bay Conference title in each of the last three years, beat St. Mary CC 35-0 on Friday, and play at Perkins in Week 8.
Western Reserve, also unbeaten with a 7-0 record, is ranked No. 7 in Division V after it's 42-21 win against St. Paul. The Roughriders are at Ashland Crestview on Friday in Firelands Conference action.
In Division VI, Fremont St. Joseph is ranked No. 13 overall.
This is the fifth of seven weekly polls voted on by members of the Associated Press.
