Edon wins shootout over Danbury

Edon scored six touchdowns in the first two quarters and earned a Toledo Area Athletic Conference win against Danbury Friday as the teams combined for 104 points.
Edon won, 62-46.
After Edon (4-2) opened with a touchdown for a 6-0 lead, Danbury's Lucas Kennedy got the Lakers (1-5) back in the game with a 71-yard touchdown run and threw a two-point conversion pass to Brandon Bahnsen.
It was a brief 8-6 lead, however, as Edon scored three straight touchdowns to go upp 28-8 with 9:52 left in the first half. But Kennedy and Bahnsen came back again, hooking up for a 65-yard touchdown pass and Kennedy ran in for two points to pull within 28-16.
But Edon pulled away for good, scoring three straight touchdowns to go up 49-16 with 10:07 left in the third quarter.
Danbury got three |touchdowns in the third quarter, a 4-yard run by Mike Ward, a 10-yard run by Kennedy and a 50-yard pass from Kennedy to Cory Schenk. That made it a 56-38 game, and each team scored once in the fourth quarter for the final margin.
Danbury's final score came on a 14-yard pass from Kennedy to Schenk.
The Lakers travel to perennial TAAC power Northwood next Friday.
