Oak Harbor swept the Port Clinton Invitational Friday, with the girls taking the day to the wire, edging out St. Joe by one point, 123-122.
The Crimson Streaks had a three point lead over the Rockets going into the final event, the 4x400 relay, but couldn't hold on as they finished fourth to Oak Harbor's second to finish the day second overall.
The host Redskins finished third overall with 102 points, followed by St. Mary (81), Clyde (66) and Danbury (29).
On the boys side, the Rockets kept a solid lead throughout most of the meet to beat their next closest opponent, also St. Joe, by more than 60 points.
Oak Harbor finished the day with 173, followed by St. Joe's 110, while Clyde finished third overall with 86 points. The hosts finished fourth with 82, followed by St. Mary (50) and Danbury (19).
The Rockets collared 13 first place finishes -- all the running events and shot put -- en route to victory, while St. Joe came away with three of the four remaining firsts and Clyde had one.
