I have had a good past week and weekend.
I was able to squeeze in a couple of evening rides during the week to go along with my regular workouts.
I only worked out with my trainer, Hannah Riley of Norwalk Rec, once this past week, but I mimicked that workout twice.
I have not done bear crawls since high school, I would prefer to keep it that way, but Hannah had other ideas. Her workout was probably the toughest I have worked out in the past year or two.
There is no doubt I’ll be in better shape come January than I have been in years.
Over the weekend I was able to get a 30-mile ride on Saturday and a 12-mile ride Sunday and some swimming in.
I’m planning on riding a couple times this week, along with my regular workouts and hope to hit the pool.
I signed up for the Flatlanders Tour in Fremont for August and the Hancock Horizontal Hundred, as well as the Stein Hospice Memorial ride in September.
I would love it if anyone reading these signed up as well to ride with me any shape, any size, any speed get out here and do it.
As far as eating goes, I am really working hard at stopping my nightly gorging habits. It’s a battle every night and I have to find things to do to keep myself occupied.
I can go all day long and eat healthy and do everything right, but night time is the toughest time for me to keep my diet in control.
I’ve found it hard as well to stop eating processed food. I’ve really cut back on diet soda. I quit drinking it altogether last year for about six months but fell back into the habit.
One of my goals is to quit drinking soda at all.
I do want to thank my wife Kendra for also starting to work out and eat healthier with me; it’s much easier when both of us are doing it together.
My bad habits are not good for either of us or the kids so it’s time to kick this unhealthy lifestyle to the curb.
