We're not tripping yet, but we will be Monday

I don't know how many people have come up to me and the boys and said "You're still in town? I thought you were on your trip."

No, we haven't left yet. We leave tomorrow. And you can join us, well watch our journey, online at sanduskyregister.com/b2b.

Will and Payton joined me Saturday as we picked up our car from Victory Honda Sandusky. Gene DaGiau was able to provide us with a Honda CRV for this year's trip. He made time for us between his recent autograph sessions as he was in the newspaper earlier this week for his running prowess. The CRV is a good choice for this year's trip as it has just enough size for all of our road trip gear, but also gets great gas mileage. At least it has so far with the city driving we did Saturday.

We stopped at several of our sponsoring businesses including Dockside Accomodations, our sponsor for Payton's Pix. We grabbed a couple photos and a couple haircuts around Sandusky including Ryan Whaley with Green Door Mediaworks; we played some volleyball and had a burger with Larry Gerold at the Old Dutch Tavern; and we stopped by Mulvin Farms and the boys had "their ears lowered" at Scarlett O'Hair.

We also made a stop to Strobel Field as the SHS Alumni were practicing for their football game against Vermilion. See what happened in the game in today's sports section. The boys kicked around a soccer ball as the goals were still set up in the end zones at Cedar Point Stadium. Will and Payton are keeping in soccer shape as they play in the Bay Area Soccer League (another sponsor of this year's trip). Registration for Fall closes today, better get registered.

The boys and I are planning on leaving at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning and we will be live-blogging throughout our journey from Sandusky to Huron to Vermilion to Cleveland and eventual first-day stop in Linesville, PA. I hear the ducks walk on the fish there. I'll be sure to take a photo.
