As a staff, we at Shawnee Elementary School would like to thank the Huron Community, Sandusky Catholic Schools, Panera, Huron Parent Organization, Stein Hospice, Mr. Muratori, Mr. Rowe and countless others for their support and guidance during the passing of our principal, Ms Tanny Vonthron.
We were and are continually amazed at the outpouring of love from those who knew Tanny and those who only knew of her.
Grief counselors surrounded our students with care and support during the days after her death, while parents nurtured tender spirits at home. Sandusky Catholic Schools made smiley face cookies for every student in our school and provided delicious food for the staff one morning. Our Parent Organization watched over us ready to step in and help whenever and wherever they were needed. Mr. Muratori, Mr. Rowe, and Nurse Wallace offered their support and guidance. Actions speak louder than words and each and every one of the people/groups mentioned took action for the sole purpose of showing love and comfort.
Our journey during this time has been made it easier, due to the compassion of friends. Each and every one involved in our healing time has blessed us. Whether you gave food, counseled, sent cards, or just remembered us in prayer, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are seeing smiles return on our faces and the color of yellow (Tanny's favorite) is everywhere. We are stronger than we were before and the sound of laughter is in the building once again.
You have made a difference in our lives. Thank you!
