Concert series resumes with SandTown

SandTown, Sandusky's own "Motown, R&B, Oldies Review," will play at Sandusky State Theatre from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The show is part of the "American Music Series" of concerts by local bands handpicked by Anna Givens, a Sandusky jazz singer. The concert series began with a Valentine's Day concert by Norwalk's Womack Family Band.

Givens hopes people will turn out to hear SandTown.

"They are a group of local merchants and business people who have been performing together as an Soul band for quite sometime now," she said.

SandTown currently is a band with members from Sandusky, Norwalk, Elyria, Berlin Heights and Marblehead. The band was founded three years ago by Sandusky's Robbie Davis, who sought to put together a professional music group that would pay tribute to the great Motown, R&B and Soul acts of yesterday.

Tickets are just $10.
