Help is in the bag at Purse Auction March 14, other volunteering opportunities

•An agency needs volunteers to help load, unload and sort donations of furniture and household items.

•On Saturday, March 15, volunteers are needed for a parent education event to help with registration and children’s activities.

•Donations of new or gently used purses are needed by The Volunteer Center for an upcoming fundraiser, extras will be given to two local clothing pantries.

•If you are 55 or older and would like to gain skills to increase your opportunities for employment, paid positions are working in non-profit agencies are available up to 18 hours per week.

•Drivers are needed to transport seniors in the Huron area. A vehicle and gas are provided.

•Like to cook? An agency needs salads, soups, side dishes, casseroles, and desserts to feed families who are providing care for a loved one.

•Help is needed to transport patients in wheelchairs and to perform light clerical duties at a local health care facility.

•Clothing, linens and baby items are being requested by a local food pantry.

•There are several gift shops and second hand stores in the area that could use volunteer help. Hours can be arranged to fit your schedule.

•Do you work in Sandusky, but live in Port Clinton or vice versa? Twice a month, someone is needed to deliver a box of books from Sandusky to the Port Clinton airport. You pick the time.

•Join the Volunteer Center for a Purse Auction at the Sandusky Yacht Club on Friday, March 14. You can bid on 50 unique purses with great prizes inside and help raise much needed funds for The Volunteer Center at the same time. Purchase tickets by calling at 419-627-0074.
