If I recommended a Chinese restaurant in Cleveland, would you believe me? How about if the recommendation came from a guy who has tried 6,296 other Chinese restaurants?
The Los Angeles Times ran a profile of LA attorney David R. Chan, who has eaten in 6,297 Chinese restaurants so far and has recorded notes on all of them on a spreadsheet.
Always ready to serve my readers, I Tweeted Chan, "Do you have any favorites in Cleveland/northern Ohio?"
He replied, "No recs beyond Li Wah in Cleveland."
But that's a pretty good recommendation. Li Wah, where your humble blogger also has dined, is a big restaurant in the "Chinatown" area east of downtown Cleveland. At 2999 Payne Avenue, it's easy to get to if you're going to downtown Cleveland for a game, a play or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It has a large menu that includes items you won't find in your average "American Chinese" restaurant. Web site is here. The Park to Shop Asian grocery store next door offers a large selection for folks who are serious about cooking Chinese food at home.
