Look for some very smart, if badly-dressed people, to descend upon the Kalahari Waterpark and Resort in a few days.
CodeMash 2009, a convention for software developers, will be at Kalahari on Jan. 7-9. The code writers will be studying how to develop software on a variety of platforms, including Java, software for the iPhone, web applications and various esoteric software topics that I don’t understand well enough to summarize. All 500 registration slots have been taken. The first CodeMash, held in January 2007 at Kalahari, had 300 attendees.
“Nobody will frown if you show up in shorts, sandals, and your loudest t-shirt. You might even win a prize for doing so,” the Web site promises.
Is there any chance we could kidnap a few of these people — in a nice way, of course — and let them go after they promise to launch a few startups in downtown Sandusky?
