I could probably use two separate blogs for these two items, but both topics are in the Vermilion area and both involve looking up in the sky.
I had to travel to the Wakeman area on Tuesday afternoon to get photos of serious crash on U.S. 20 just west of Wakeman. (Hopefully the two women injured in the crash will make a speedy recovery, the car they were in was totaled.)
After taking photos of the crash I decided to take a different way back to Sandusky. One option was taking Gore Orphanage Road all the way north from Wakeman to Vermilion Road and then on to Ohio 2.
I'm glad I took this route. If you are looking for a nice drive with some curves and some fall color. The leaves are a' changin' on Vermilion and Gore Orphanage Roads. I have posted a couple photos below.
The second part of my blog (that you may have skipped to already) is a tidbit of information that staff photographer Luke Wark passed on to me while he was trolling site dedicated to Ufology and UFO Phenomenon. Wark has watched too many seasons of the X-files that he borrowed from his boss.
At the site webeufobelievers.net there is an update out of Erie County. For those of you who need spaces between words to read, that is "we be ufo believers", a use of grammar that would kill my english-teacher wife.
The site reports a retired police officer was turning from Ohio 60 in Vermilion to Ohio 2 at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, October 27 when he and his passenger spotted a "fast moving and low flying object." You can see the whole story by clicking HERE.
And if anyone out there knows who the two witnesses are, please have them give me a call at (419)609-5850 or an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can do a follow-up.
