Kasich a candidate for governor?

Tom Jackson • Mar 23, 2010 at 6:28 PM

Saturday's visit by former Congressman John Kasich, who is a commentator for the Fox News cable TV channel, will give local Republicans a look at a man who might run for governor in 2010 against the incumbent Democratic governor, Ted Strickland. An article in the Columbus Dispatch quotes him as saying, "I've made it clear to people that I'm going to look at the governor's office. I hope that Ted Strickland will do a good job so I won't have to go around the state doing this stuff."

Kasich is the main speaker for the 2008 Spring Gala, co-hosted by the Erie County Republican Party and the Huron County Republican Women's Club. The event will be held at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at Mesenburg's Plaza Place, 545 West Main St., Huron (social hour begins at 6 p.m.).  Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by calling 419-967-5462 or 419-433-2741.
