What’s a holiday season without Christmas carols? The Firelands Chorus, marking its 50th anniversary this year, will be singing many holiday favorites when it performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave.
Jeffrey Kearney, director of the 43-member chorus, says he usually picks the musical numbers to be performed. But for Saturday’s show, he polled the chorus members, letting them suggest songs they enjoyed performing in the past. There are 25 songs on the program, including perennial favorites such as “Silent Night” and the “Carol of the Bells.”
There should be ample seating and plenty of parking, Kearney predicts. The concert also is handicapped accessible, as the church has an elevator in the back. Admission is free; a voluntary offering will be taken up during the concert.
