Call in for help

There's another effort under way to help people facing foreclosure on their homes.

The Erie County Save Our Homes Task Force has organized a "Foreclosure Intervention Call-In." If you want to talk to a lawyer, banker or housing counselor for some free advice, pick up the phone between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday and call 419-626-5623. (That's the number, during the day, for the county health department, which agreed to provide space and a phone bank.)

The idea is that people who might find it inconvenient or embarrassing to come to a public meeting can obtain information anonymously by simply making a telephone call, said Jo Dee Fantozz, Erie County's treasurer.
