Bellevue wins low-scoring game against Perkins

Two fine girls basketball teams had problems producing points Tuesday in what was likely a preview of a sectional championship two weeks from down the road.
Bellevue (15-1) and Perkins (14-4) locked up in an independent game at Perkins, and good defensive play for the most part had plenty to do with the low-scoring contest, won by the Lady Red, 44-40.
Perkins had a pair of four-point quarters with 21 points in the second period sandwiched in between. On the other hand, Bellevue displayed a lot more consistency in its scoring to go along with some fine free throw shooting to get a big win, according to coach Ryan Orshoski.
"It's a big win and does a lot for us in the area of confidence heading late in the year, and we beat a good Perkins team," Orshoski said.
