A 15-point output in the second half proved to be just enough for Margaretta to fight off stubborn Huron, 45-40, in Sandusky Bay Conference action Tuesday.
The Bears had a 30-20 halftime advantage over the Tigers, and made it a 12-point lead one minute into the second half.
Huron coach Ty Ray's squad kept plugging away as the Bears missed 11 consecutive field goal tries and the margin was shaved to six (32-26) at the 1:40 mark of the third. It was a closely contested battle the rest of the way, though Huron could not get the one big bucket needed to spring the upset.
