The St. Paul Lady Flyers remained unbeaten with a resounding 77-34 win over New London Thursday night in the Firelands Conference opener at New London High School.
Balanced scoring again paced St. Paul (3-0, 1-0 FC) as Allison Spence scored 16, followed by Taylor Brown with 15 and Kirsten Bundschuh with 14.
For New London (0-3, 0-1 FC), Cassidy Lang scored seven points while Megan Thomas added six.
W. Reserve 59, Crestview 36
At Collins, a nine-day layoff did nothing to slow down the Western Reserve Roughriders in a 23-point win in the Firelands Conference opener.
"After being off that long, we played an amazing first half," Western Reserve coach Brenda Friend said after watching her team jump ahead 38-11 at the break. "We didn't turn the ball over much, and obviously holding them to 11 points after not playing for nine days like that, I'm just very proud of my kids."
Kelsey Wyant finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Western (3-0, 1-0 FC) while Theresa Jackson scored 11 and added five assists.
Natalie Robson added eight points and seven rebounds while Carli Patrick scored eight points and grabbed five rebounds.
Mapleton 53, Monroeville 32
At Nankin Township, Brooke Barnett scored 23 of the Eagles 32 points but it wasn't nearly enough in a 21-point loss at Mapleton.
Madison Quillen added six points for Monroeville.
Danbury 55, E. Christian 28
At Danbury Township, Tori England scored 13 points that included three 3-point baskets in a Toledo Area Athletic Conference win over Emmanuel Christian.
Kayla Oxendale led Danbury with 15 points while Kelsey Clemons added 12 and Felicia Beverick contributed nine.
