WHAT: Stein Hospice Spaghetti Dinner
WHEN: 12-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4
WHERE: American Legion Post 83, 3615 Hayes Avenue, Sandusky
COST: $7 per ticket, free for kids 5 and under
“These three veteran clubs have generously offered to host this dinner and donate all the proceeds to the Stein Hospice veterans program, called PeaceWorks,” said Amy Skolnik, event coordinator for Stein Hospice.
The dinner will include spaghetti with meatballs, salad, rolls with butter and a soft drink.
“The costs will be $7 per dinner and free for children five years old and young,” Skolnik said. “Carry out is also available for $7.”
With generous portions served, patrons will definitely get a lot of food for their money.
“This is the second year we have had this event and we hope to get as great a turnout as last year,” Skolnik said. “Last year we served about 600 meals and we hope to serve even more this year. We will also have a bake sale and raffle at the event, so that is an added bonus for attendees”
This year they hope to raise around $6,000 for PeaceWorks from the event.
“This is a great opportunity as a community to say thank you to our veterans and let them know we appreciate everything they have done for our country,” Skolnik said. “All the money raised goes directly to the veterans, so it is really a great event for a worthy cause.”
