In conjunction with the inaugural Art Festival taking place May 7 at the Sandusky State Theater, “A Taste of Wine and Roses” will also be making its debut the same night in the same venue.
“We’re having an art festival show by the Firelands Art Society in the State Room and we decided to do a tag-on event to it,” said Sandusky State Theater Executive Director Thomas T. Kazmierczak, III. “It’s our spring fundraiser, so we’re doing an evening of wine and roses. We’re partnering with Hermes Winery, Firelands Winery, Paper Moon Winery and Quarry Hill Winery. This is a new event for the theater, and it will be held on stage, which will be transformed into a beautiful dining area. You’ll have a whole view of the theater. We’re going to serve an eight-course gourmet dinner partnered with wine.”
Caterers Creative Cuisine will be providing the meal, which includes antipasto, Italian wedding soup, Tuscan salad, bruschetta, pasta with red pepper sauce, veal osso bucco, caprese style chicken and gelato.
“For Sandusky and the State Theater, it’s a new cultural event that partners art with the theater and a wonderful partnership with the area wineries,” Kazmierczak said. “It’s an all-inclusive event.”
“A Taste of Wine and Roses” is the second Sandusky State Theater fundraiser. The other is Holiday Sparkle, which takes place in November and this year will feature painted five-foot-tall snowmen.
As for the upcoming vino and cuisine event, Kazmierczak stressed, “This offers something for everyone – people who want to casually look at art, people who want to come downtown and people who just want to make it an evening or a special event.”
