You don't have to be a creative genius to tap into the powers of expression. In fact, we've found plenty of classes, exhibits, shows and crafting sessions to prove it. Whether you're into jewelry-making, quilting or the finer points of watercolor painting, we've got something for you.


Watercolor Class with Clela Stelnicki

• WHEN: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., every Wednesday in March-June

Every Wednesday through March, April, May and June, watercolor artist Clela Stelnicki will host a watercolor class in the Frost Center. She’ll teach you the basics with a step-by-step demonstration, and you’ll be able to create your own masterpiece. Payment is accepted at the door (cash or check). Stained Glass Window Class

Join the Bellevue Society for the Arts for a stained glass windowpane class, hosted on Wednesday evenings.

Class: Make a Bracelet

• WHEN: 10 a.m. March 26

• WHERE: Merry-Go-Round Museum, 301 Jackson St., Sandusky  

• COST: $10

This jewelry-making class will teach participants how to make a bracelet. Class minimum is five students. Registration required, preferably by March 19. All the supplies you’ll need are included in the admission fee.

The current exhibit on display at Sandusky Cultural Center is brought to you by guest curator Todd Leech. Leech is a Cleveland-born artist who earned his undergraduate degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea and his Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He exhibits artwork regularly in regional and national juried exhibitions, often in conjunction with wife Stephanie Craig, a ceramic sculptor. His work seeks to address the themes of time, morality and disintegration.

Featured Artists Art Show

The Vermilion Artists Guild will be hosting a featured artists show every weekend (Sat.-Sun.) through April 10.

Terra Art Show

• WHEN: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. March 27-April 8

• WHERE: Terra Community College, 2830 Napoleon Rd., Fremont

Hosted by the Terra Community College, the Terra Art Show will feature student artwork of oil painting, watercolor painting, drawings, 2-D and 3-D foundations, digital artwork, media designs and photography. It will be held in the Atrium, Building B.

Japanese Kimono Exhibit

• WHEN: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tue.-Sat., 12-4 p.m. Sun.; runs from April 1-July 14

Though the exhibit lasts a few months, you can meet Kerry Porter, the owner and collector, at a special reception held from 2-4 p.m. on April 10. Open to the public.

Art After Hours

• WHEN: 5-9 p.m. April 1

• WHERE: Jodie McCallum & Co. Fine Art Gallery, 724 W. Main St., Marblehead

The Jodie McCallum & Co. Fine Art Gallery in Marblehead hosts an Art After Hours event every month where you can meet and greet visiting artists. This is an event intended for patrons of the arts to stop by and enjoy their community offerings. Wine, tea, coffee, cheese and crackers will be available. Call for more information.


Teen Craft: Tie-Dye

• WHEN: 4:30 p.m. March 23

• WHERE: Berlin Public Library, 4 E. Main St., Berlin Heights

Any teen looking for something to do after school can head to the Berlin Public Library to create a tie-dye t-shirt. The t-shirts and dye will be provided for you, along with some tasty refreshments. No

registration required.

Beginner’s Circle Drawing

• WHEN: 9 & 10 a.m. April 2

• WHERE: Merry-Go-Round Museum, 301 Jackson St., Sandusky

The Merry-Go-Round Museum invites all kids and their families for their beginner’s circle drawing class. Bring a 12”x18” sketch pad, a soft black drawing pencil or charcoal pencil and an eraser. Deadline for registration is one week prior to the class (March 26), and it can be canceled without the minimum number of participants.


Scrapbooking in the Park

• WHEN: 3-9 p.m. March 25, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. March 26

• WHERE: Carlisle Visitors Center, 12882 Diagonal Rd., LaGrange

• COST: $5/one day, $10/both days

Enjoy an evening or two of scrapbooking with other croppers at the Carlisle Visitors Center. You can sign up for one day or both. Registration is requested by March 22. Call for more information.

Learn How to Knit

• WHEN: 6:30 p.m. March 29

Here’s your chance to learn how to knit with yarn of plarn at the Depot in the Coupling MetroPark. All you need to do is bring a pair of size 8 or 9 knitting needles, scissors and a skein of 4 ply yarn. They’ll supply the plarn and instructions. Registration is required. Limited to 12 participants of ages 16 and older.
