A family-friendly St. Pat's celebration

There are plenty of ways to enjoy being green with the whole family on St. Patrick's Day. We've got Leprechaun Hikes and St. Patty's Day strolls, as well as a family-friendly party at Strikers in Plaza Lanes.

Leprechaun Hike

• WHEN: 10 a.m. March 17

• WHERE: Vermilion River Reservation, 51211 N. Ridge Rd., Vermilion

Enjoy a fun hike through the woods of the Vermilion River Reservation on St. Patrick’s Day. Meet at the Carriage Barn and be sure to keep an eye out for leprechauns.

St. Patty’s Day Party

• WHEN: 4 p.m. March 17

• WHERE: Strikers in Plaza Lanes, 2641 E. State St., Fremont

• COST: No cover

Enjoy live entertainment from the CoCoBeanOs starting at 4 p.m., while you enjoy bowling, drink specials, food and lots of fun. A special hermit crab race will begin after the band’s set.

St. Patrick’s Day Stroll

• WHEN: 4:30 p.m. March 17

• WHERE: Osborn Park, 3910 Perkins Ave., Huron

• COST: Free

Enjoy the St. Patrick’s holiday by joining an Erie County MetroParks naturalist for an invigorating hike around the south woods and meadows in Osborn Park. They’ll be searching for signs of green along the way by looking for amphibians and spring wildflowers.

Registration appreciated but not required.

St. Patty’s Bash

• WHEN: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 19

• WHERE: Roeder Racing & Service, 3684 U.S. 20, Monroeville

• COST: Free

Roeder Racing and Service will have free food, drinks, 10% off selected parts, 15% off tires, a dart toss, raffles and prize giveaways.

Park Pals: St. Patrick’s Day

• WHEN: 10 a.m. March 19

Park Pals is an educational nature program with the Erie County MetroParks for children ages 3-6 years old with an accompanying adult. This Saturday, they’ll be celebrating four leaf clovers, the color green and rainbows. All of these are found in nature, but some are more common than others. Will they find all three on this day? Meet in the Frost Center.
