It’s November, and while that certainly means turkey and football, it also marks the beginning of holiday shopping season. But what if you like your gifts on the unique side? Funcoast has compiled a great list of some of the best arts and craft shows around, so you can find something really special for some of the people on your list. Below, you’ll learn where you can find homemade jewelry, gorgeous paintings, delicious baked goods, gourmet chocolate and more.

32nd Annual Stocking Stuffer Craft Show

- WHERE: Sandusky High School, 2130 Hayes Ave., Sandusky

- WHEN: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 13

- COST: $2.50/adult, .50/kids (bring a canned good for .50 off admission)

A much-loved tradition in these parts, this craft show has grown exponentially since its inception. This weekend, browse over 50 vendors to find unique homemade crafts, including jewelry. There will also be booths featuring items from Pampered Chef and Tastefully Simple. Hungry? Enjoy a lunch or satisfy your sweet tooth with picks from the bake sale.

Anniversary Open House & Holiday Preview

There’s nothing like some quality chocolate to help you get in the mood for (and survive) the upcoming holiday season. This open house will be full of goodies, chocolate (of course) and plenty more. Browse a wide array of palate-pleasing gifts for friends and family, or take home a secret stash for yourself (we highly recommend the toffee). If you happen to be a budding or wannabe chocolatier, ask about their upcoming classes. Yum!

2nd Annual Holiday Craft Fair & Flea Market

- WHERE: Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Rd., Sandusky

This craft fair and flea market boasts over 20 vendors, selling everything from baked goods and homemade crafts to handcrafted jewelry, antiques and scrapbooking

supplies. An added bonus: they’ve got plenty of activities for the kids. Lunch available for purchase.

Holiday Greeting Cards

- WHERE: Osborn Park, 3910 Perkins Ave., Huron

- WHERE: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16

- COST: $5 registration fee (includes 12 cards with envelopes)

This isn’t exactly a craft show or flea market, but it fits the overall vibe of getting ready for the holidays. If you’d like to make your own holiday greeting cards out of recycled materials, this is the place to be — all you need is some creativity. Located in the Frost Center. For ages 10 and up. Space fills quickly, so be sure to call and register today.

Holiday Art Show

If you’re looking for something truly unique, this is the show to check out. The Holiday Art Show will have literally every type of art you can think of: jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, pottery, photography, watercolor, oil paintings and more. One of the best parts? Everything is handmade by local artists.

   The grand opening will be 5-8 p.m. on Fri. Nov. 19, and visitors will be able to enjoy refreshments and live entertainment. If you can’t make it, the regular show will be open to visitors from 12-4 p.m. every Sat. and Sun. through Dec. 19.
