Cedar Point's Mean Streak will return, feisty as ever, but fans will have to wait until next year to climb back on.
A small fire at the wooden roller coaster Tuesday night damaged a 5-foot section of the track. Firefighters kept the fire from causing major damage.
Cedar Point spokesman Robin Innes said Wednesday the ride won't be open for the rest of HalloWeekends, but said the park had planned to shut it down by this weekend, anyway, for maintenance.
The park is open on weekends through the end of October, although not all of the rides are available on Friday night. Mean Streak is one of the rides that has been available only on Saturday and Sunday.

excellant post Goofus, Most people, including many Marines do not know the history of WHY the Marines was even started, it was because of the Barnaby war!! The Muslims took our navy ships & cargo and put our Sailors into SLAVERY and made them subject to their rule, then they sold them back to the US. But that ended when our president (unlike Bush and current) had the nerve and conscience to say "ENOUGH" and formed the Marines and sent them over to kick but! Like usual, the cowards who murder and run seeing they were in trouble made peace and gave back our ships, cargo and sailors.

I agree, I won't ride it anymore. I value my ribs and don't want them to be bashed in by how rough of a ride this one is.
