Sandusky police arrested two people in a fight at Lyman Harbor that reportedly involved a crowd of more than 300 people. Police received calls about several fights at about 1:45 a.m. Friday at the entertainment venue, 1615 First St.

Officers first observed Tommy McDonald punching a sign in the parking lot. As they tried to disperse a large crowd, they also saw two women pushing each other. McDonald ran through the crowd and grabbed one of the women, throwing her against the trunk of a car, according to the report.

He then picked her up and slammed her on the trunk, police said.

Officer Stephen Ritterbach grabbed McDonald by his shirt to pull him away from the woman, but McDonald struggled to free himself. Another officer, Bradley Wilson, took McDonald by the arms and pulled him away to arrest him.

A total of six Sandusky officers responded, along with officers from U.S. Border Patrol, to disperse the crowds.

McDonald was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center for treatment and then to the Erie County jail.

Another man, Timothy Johnson, was arrested because he yelled at the officers and refused to cooperate. He was charged with failure to disperse and later released to a sober person.

Let me just say that people are on here making comments when they have no clue what they are speaking of.  This incident has nothing to do with the Crowbar first of all.  Any incidents "at the Crowbar" were outside where security has no control over them. That is SPD's job to handle those situations. There is no fighting inside the bar besides the usual words exchanged between drunken people. And as far as it being an after hours spot that is COMPLETELY NOT TRUE. Workers stay after close to do the cleaning and go home.  Prostitutes are everywhere and lots of them go to all the bars in Sandusky to solicit sex. I would not be able to point one out. As far as Lyman's goes how does anyone know that this young man was cheating on his girlfriend? Welcome to Sandusky....DRAMA!

@ Darkhorse,

If fights/brawls/melees/ mini riots/gunfire caused any  bar in this town to get it's liquor license revoked it would be that Crow Bar...and I used to think Daly's was bad! It amazes me they still allow that place to stay open, especially on Sunday nights with the prostitutes & after hours "parties".

And yes, around the bar circuit, Thursday is known as "Thug Nigh"t at Lyman, just like DJ's Sports bar used to be, since it was so handy within walking distance for the lovely neighborhood dwellers-just like the old Radio Inn. Hmmm, Now one's closed & the other is Dollar General's parking lot. See a trend?

Thanksgiving is for those who appreciate what they have & give thanks for it; not for those who take & abuse the system for as much free stuff they can scam & rip off those who give thanks for having their jobs.

Do you people read? LOL. A woman and a man are the 2 people involved. Not 2 men. A WOMAN and A MAN. The man was cheating on his girl and the 2 girls were fighting over him. HOW DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ANY LOCAL BUSSINESS. LOL.

Sandusky is sounding more and more like MANSFIELD!! (Little Detroit)....Can't go ANYWHERE after dark, on a week-end or else you take your life in your hands! They have MANY "group fights" and drive-by shootings in their "club" parking lots..AND, of course, in a group of 50+, "No body saw 'nuttin'"!!

It is truly a SHAME that we decent folks can't go out for an evening without fearing for your life, or getting ARRESTED in a melee!!!!!    : (

Those that are willing to give up their freedoms for safety, deserve NEITHER!

Between Lyman and the Goodtime booze cruise, it seems they are near revoking their liquor license if anymore fights break out.   Somewhere along the line, you have to recognize these people are too drunk to serve any more liquor to them.  The police should be surcharging these places that are experiencing fights in the parking lots on a regular basis.  You would think their own security could monitor and move the people along who are gathering a crowd.

Chung Lee no like this political correct stuff.  How come in history class Chung Lee read about the "Dark Ages" but Chung Lee can't use same term to describe the problem that has plagued a number of local businesses?  Maybe instead of calling Thursday Night at Lyman's 25 cent beer night..... why not call it fight night or "Celebrate you don't have to go to work on Friday"?

@R U Kidding me.

Lyman is actually a very nice place to hang out on Thursday nights and more. There are several security gaurds within the club through out the the entire night. Ive gone to Lyman nearly every THURSDAY NIGHT until close throughout the summer. This one mishap seems to have happened outside of a club between a male and a female. It sounds more like a personal situation as opposed to the bar being unsafe. I think you should get your facts right or visit Lyman for yourself before you come online bashing places. Milan only has the Wonder bar. We will see if any fights break out at their bar this weekend with the Melon Festival in the parking lot... Oh wait.. they dont have a parking lot or customers.

From what I have seen from the staff and the customers yes this is a place to avoid at night. Its just like one of the bars downtown.  the down under and when you have that mentality your gonna have trouble. I have changed over and hang out in milan a nice quiet town.Don't have to worry about anyone stabbing or shooting you in the back.

300 people? Why the crowd mentality? Was this a mixed crowd? Is Lyman Harbor one of the places to avoid at night?
