The Erie County Humane Society features the following felines available for adoption:

Emerald — 5-year-old Calico found under a car at Target. She has beautiful emerald green eyes.

Rita & Freida — They are 4-month-old sisters who love to play with each other.

Chad — 10-week-old cutie raised in a foster home. He loves to purr.

Linxy — A 2-year-old grey-and-white gal whose owner had to move.

Hunter — A 4-month-old high-energy kitten who is very entertaining.

Sugar & Nugget — They are 10-week-old sisters who were raised in a foster home and are very cuddly.

The Humane Society is located at 1911 Superior St., Sandusky. Adoption hours are 1-6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1-4 p.m. Saturday. Normal adoption fees are: Cats/kittens $60, but fees are waived for cats 3 years old or older. Dogs/puppies adoption fees vary. The fees include spaying/neutering and first shots if the kitten is at least 3 months old. Call 419-626-6220.

 

 The Erie County Dog Pound has these dogs available for adoption:

Stella — Female lab mix, 2 years old. Housebroken, friendly and eager to please. Available 11:45 a.m. Thursday.

Summer — Female rottweiler mix, 2 years old. Housebroken, friendly and gentle. Available now.

Zoe — Female shih tzu mix, 2 years old. Needs patient owner who is home often. Very lovable. Available now.

Trixie — Female lab mix, 2 years old. Mild-mannered girl. Available now.

Aspen — Female Jack Russell, 4 years old. Housebroken, very outgoing, must have fenced yard. Available now.

Scrappy — Male terrier-airdale mix, 4 months old. Housebroken, very well-behaved for such a young guy. Available noon Friday.

Martha — Female min pin mix, 8 years old. Very shy. Needs dental work. Available 10 a.m. Saturday.

Benny — Neutered male retriever mix. Very playful, but not good with dogs or cats. No children younger than 12. Available now.

Freckles — Male spaniel mix, 1 year old. Just arrived. Very shy but will warm up. Available 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Erie County Dog Pound, 2900 Columbus Ave., Perkins Township, is open 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10-10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call 419-627-7607. Adopting a dog costs $30.

 I second that, 44846...some toys would be great too & they're cheap.

Thanksgiving is for those who appreciate what they have & give thanks for it; not for those who take & abuse the system for as much free stuff they can scam & rip off those who give thanks for having their jobs.

Please, if you can't adopt, then consider donating. You can send a check in the mail, or stop by with some pet food, pet treats, cat litter, old bath towels, old rugs, cleaning supplies, paper towels, dish soap, the list goes on and on...it all helps.
