PERKINS TWP.
A man used a fake Pennsylvania ID card to get a Home Depot credit card, Perkins police say.
A card with peeling laminate and fake information pasted onto a plastic back didn't pass officers eyes Wednesday as they charged Henry D. Green, 44, of Cleveland Heights with attempted theft, tampering with evidence, forgery, identity fraud and criminal simulation for using the card to get a Home Depot credit card with a $7,500 credit line.
An employee at the store said he recognized Green as someone who allegedly ran a similar scam in the store before, a memory that led him to call police. Police checked the name from the card, which showed a different license number in the LEADS system.
Green had not yet used the credit card he had obtained, according to a police report.
He was in the Erie County Jail Thursday on $32,650 bond.
